CLINICAL UTILITY
Activating mutations in EGFR are present in approximately 10-12% of non-small cell carcinomas of the lung. most EGFR mutations predict a good response to treatment with EGFR inhibitors such as gefitinib and erlotinib. EGFR, ALK and ROS1 mutation testing are recommended to determine whether a person’s tumor would be likely to respond to specific targeted therapies such as gefitinib, erlotinib and crizotinib

Transport at ambient (18-25°C) temperature
METHODOLOGY
NGS, FISH

NA

Surgical tissue/Tissue Block

The test is recommended in adenocarcinoma of NSCLC
The test is performed by NGS & FISH technique
There is no risk associated with the test as biopsy will be taken by the trained surgeon in the hospital under anasthesia
The test report comes as EGFR, ALK, ROS-1 mutation postitive or negative
