Vasculitis Panel ,ELISA
Helps to evaluate patients suspected of having autoimmune vasculitis, IBD, Glomerulonephritis
It is most often used to find out if one has a type of autoimmune vasculitis like Wegener granulomatosis, microscopic polyangiitis and its renal-limited variant (pauciimmune crescentic glomerulonephritis), and Churg-Strauss syndrome. Symptoms may include rashes or bumps or areas of discoloration on your skin, Numbness or tingling, joint pain, fever, fatigues, etc
This test requires a blood sample. A tourniquet (elastic) band is placed tightly on the upper arm. The patient is then asked to make a fist. This helps in the build-up of blood filling the veins. The skin is disinfected before needle insertion and the blood sample is collected in vacutainer.
Based on the presence or absence of autoantibodies against each of the antigen (Positive or Negative Result) along with the intensity and class of each antibody, the overall result can be determined.
