Covers diagnostic markers associated with progression of Autoimmune hepatitis
Signs and symptoms of autoimmune hepatitis vary from person to person and may come on suddenly. If one observes the following symptoms like acute or chronic liver disease, abnormal liver function tests, Abdominal pain, Jaundice, Itchy skin, Fatigue, etc
This test requires a blood sample. A tourniquet (elastic) band is placed tightly on the upper arm. The patient is then asked to make a fist. This helps in the build-up of blood filling the veins. The skin is disinfected before needle insertion and the blood sample is collected in vacutainer.
Based on the presence or absence of autoantibodies against each of the antigen (Positive or Negative Result) along with the intensity and class of each antibody, the overall result can be determined.
